On 19 January 2017 the Institut Laue Langevin will celebrate its 50th birthday. To mark the occasion, a ceremony will be held at Grenoble’s Europole World Trade Centre, bringing together Institut Laue Langevin’s staff, collaborators and friends, both past and present.
 
The Institut Laue Langevin was founded 50 years ago, with the signing of an agreement between the governments of the French Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany. What began under the impetus of Franco-German reconciliation is now a shining example of international cooperation, an Institute which both reflects and drives European integration.
